iPhone 16 Pro Max iOS 26 update causes social media and website scrolling glitches

I updated my 16 ProMax to iOS26 a week ago. Since then any social media scrolling is glitchy-posts lag or freeze. App images stutter/flash when scrolling. Websites do the same-and graphics stick and lag to catch up to the rest of the page when scrolling. I’ve updated apps, restarted, it doesn’t matter if I’m on or off WiFi, or what network I’m on.


Super frustrated!

You can try a Force Restart:

  • Press and quickly release Volume up
  • Press and quickly release Volume Down
  • Press and HOLD the side button until the Apple Logo appears. This may take up to 15 seconds until you see the Apple logo while holding the side button and you have to ignore anything else on the screen during that time. If you do not see the Apple logo, then try again as it may take a couple of attempts to get the speed and sequence of the key presses correct.


If you have a specific website where you experience this behavior, then post a link and we can compare our results. Apps are less reliable as a comparison, for example Meta apps have glitches all the time no matter what iOS you are using and with updates on those apps being as much as 10 times a month, some will fix bugs while introducing more. You are less likely to notice a bug from an app update as the only indication it has been updated is a little blue dot on the icon, as opposed to an iOS update.
