Original Title: IOS 26 on IPad. The onscreen keypad is taking up two thirds or more of the screen. The buttons are huge, expect space bar which is only about two keys wide. Is it a bug or a PICNIC
iPad Pro, iPadOS 26
This is a bug related to setting “Display Zoom” = “Larger Text” (under Display & Brightness).
If you change Display Zoom to Default the full keyboard is quite smaller and the keys are normally sized, including Spacebar.
I normally use “Larger Text” and this is extremely annoying, they should fix it. The bug is still present in 26.1.
The large keyboard is practically unusable because it covers almost the entire screen. Very nice “feature”. lol
It is a bug because it wasn’t like that before iPadOS 26. This “feature” makes you choose between “Larger Text” setting and full keyboard, you can’t use both at the same time.

Apple invite submission of comments and bug reports via its Product Feedback portal. For iPad and iPadOS:
If submitting a Bug Report, ensure that you include details of your iPad model and installed version of iPadOS within the body-text of your report. Don't rely upon the pick-list - as this rarely includes the current versions.

I doNOT have Zoom setting on my iPad mini 7 iOS 26.2 either, so I know it is not the Zoom setting . I just have the Bold setting on .
What happened, if you tried restarting your iPad as suggested earlier ?
