What is the meaning of 'BE' in iPhone 17 Pro Max model number?

I have just bought an iphone 17 pro max in Brazil. Model number ends with a "BE" and I am wondering what BE stands for - like LL for the US. I googled it, but I cound't find anywhere. Since I bought in Brazil, wouldn't it be "BZ"? Thanks in advance

iPhone models with parts imported from elsewhere and assembled in Brazil use BR/A.

Models for Brazil imported from and assembled elsewhere use BE/A and BZ/A.

BZ/A is consistently reported as a model for Brazil assembled in China.

BE/A is listed as a model for Brazil imported from another country, and some of the listings further indicate it was assembled in China, but a different source wouldn't surprise.

I'm quite probably mistranslating the Brazilian Portuguese here, too.

What do the paperwork, the box, and the back of the phone indicate for country of assembly, if anything?

In the past, BR was applied to iPhone model numbers if the phone was assembled in Brazil and BZ was used for phones that were assembled in China.

Since I think....(but have not yet fully verified).....that most if not all iPhone 17 models are now assembled in India, a guess would be that that Apple has not fully updated their country codes and BE may be the new designator for your phone.
