Found solution for deleting conversations in Messages susing keyboard shortcut

Hi all, like so many others I was looking for a way to restore the keyboard combination CMD-SHIFT-D or CMD-CTRL-D that used to be active to delete a conversation in Messages. And I found it by accident! So I wanted to reply to the 10+ threads here that all ask the same question but they're all closed for comment so I thought I'd just post it as a new thread.

The trick is: you just set up your desired shortcut for the Delete Conversation... command in Settings → Keyboard → Shortcuts → App shortcuts. But: here, create your desired shortcut for 'All Applications' instead of just 'Messages'. Somehow, it now seems to stick.

Of course you'll have to figure out which keyboard shortcut works best for you, as there might be other apps that already use the CMD-SHIFT-D (which I think used to be the default one). You decide, of course.

Hope this helps.
