iPhone 17 Pro camera freezes after taking photos or videos

my brand new iphone 17pro camera freezes every time you take a picture/video and i have to force close the app. I updated to the latest iOS when I set up my phone but now the camera app is glitchy. after taking on pic or video it freezes. when I try and review the photos or videos it just shows the loading icon. I have to force close the app each time. I've restarted and checked all settings. Anyone else having this issue? I'm about ready to return it.

I had this exact issue the day of the setup for pro max. I would find the camera would freeze, or toggle between any photo or video setting would intermittently freeze. I thought it was icloud sync as even when the camera would take a photo (or looked like it did), they wouldn't show up immediately (sometimes several minutes later).

After 24 hours I was frustrated - still thinking it was the sync, I turned off icloud, and it seemed to resolve it. I turned it back on and the issue came back. I ended up resetting all settings, and haven't had the issue again, thankfully. I would however have expected more and better for the price we pay for this. I'm 50/50 on returning it and going back to my 16!

I also have the same situation, freezing and restarting the phone when entering the camera, please fix this error and let the user know if it is a hardware or software error.

My new and up to date 17 pro totally freezes often when I take a photo. To the point where I now carry the steps to reset with me, since the last time it happened I was left stranded on a walk, miles from home with no phone. Hit vol up, hit vol down, hold side button. I’m still mad about my hike ruined and paying $1,200 for the privilege. It has happened when I had another app running. Once, Sling, another time YouTube, and maybe other apps. But my old 14 had no such troubles.

iphone 17 has been glitchy/freezing since the day i got it - now i took really important photos last night and the camera would freeze after almost every photo and i would shut down the app and take another - then the same thing. now not a single photo i took is showing up and they are really important to me - could i find them anywhere on the phone? i’ve checked icloud, etc and they’re not there - but i took the photos on the phone last night
