I updated my phone 13 Pro Max to iOS 26. I cannot receive or make phone calls or text messages. It’s a black screen. I cannot go into settings to check the app as it freezes. This is a mess. I need my phone. My email app doesn’t work either. It’s black as well. HELP!!

Try a force restart:
If it doesn’t, you will have to erase the phone with a computer and iTunes, and set it up with a backup (if it was backed up to icloud before you updated). I hope you get your things back 🤞

Oh no, how sad! So basically what I would recommend to do is restart your phone and if that doesn’t help then contact one of the apple team members. ❤️
Got same problem used iCloud or iTunes on pc to do it otherwise it take forever literally not showing even estimated time
I tried the volume power reset. Did an all settings reset and nothing works. I called Apple and was told I would need to take it to get fixed and I would have to pay. My phone was fine before I updated to ios26 and I have to pay for Apple’s update breaking my phone? Make this male sense.

Apple said nothing. She ran a diagnostic on my phone and there was nothing wrong with it. Told me to go to Apple Store, Best Buy or some other place and see if they could fix it. And since I am no longer under warranty I would have to pay for it even though the update messed up my phone.
I am trying to back up my phone before erasing and it is taking forever! It has been backing up now for over 4 hours. The line is almost at the end and it says 19 minutes left but it is not changing or moving. Will it back up now or is just done. I can't move past this screen since I clicked on erase and it brought me to the back up page first. At this point I need to do something as I don't have access to a phone and have been without since last night
Tried it already it fix problem for a day before coming back to same thing Apple support are absolutely useless offered nothing but just wait for update that will fix problem or take your phone to Apple and pay x amount for it
