iOS 26 text messages not denoting which number a contact sent a text from.

In previous version of iOS, when a contact would text me I could tap info and see which number they used in case I needed to call them back. I tried this in iOS and there was no indication which number the messages are coming from. Is there a way to make this happen?

Great question, same here. Apple Senior Advisors (I was lucky to have them elevate my case that high...) stated they had the same issue on their phone too, so it's either a bug or just what Apple intended with iOS 26...

I did notice that a new contact number on my iPhone 16, with no name input, will show "recent" next to that number. But as soon as I input a name to add it to my Contacts, then the "Recent" label disappear.
