iPhone 16 Pro not recognized as USB device for music playback in older Nissan car

I have an old Nissan 2011 vehicle. It does not have CarPlay Of recent I have noticed when I connect my iPhone 16 Pro via USB a -USB c the phone will charge, but it is not recognized as a device to play music through the car stereo. I cannot play Spotify through the car stereo. I have tried different cables-the phone charges with all of them but still does I do not get the warning USB device connected. When my daughter connects her iPhone 11, the warning pops up on the stereo that says USB device connected and she can use her Spotify to play music through the car..

It may be that the USB-C cable that you have is charge only. You need one that is a data cable. Your daughter's iPhone 11 uses USB-A and a different cable. Try a different cable, and make sure it will handle data.
