Physical display issue on MacBook Pro

Hi Everyone,

I have a question. I was cleaning my MacBook and initially thought I saw some dust, but now I think it might be a physical issue. I'm not quite sure if it's something a professional can fix.

Unfortunately, I'm the kind of person who gets frustrated when I notice a small dent or flaw.

I end up seeing it every day making it bigger in my own eyes, when the display is on I can't see it really.

Let me know if this is something that can be repaired, or if I might need a new display.

You can get a free in-person inspection and evaluation at the Genius Bar of an Apple-owned Store, in warranty or out.

There is no charge for this service, but they are crazy-busy, so an appointment is required. Make an appointment for a hardware (display) issue.

Those guys put their hands on Macs like yours, all day every day, and they have really "seen it all".

Unfortunately if you mean that black dot, then it is impossible to say from that photo. I have seen some grime on displays which I thought may have been a physical blemish & chip, but turned out it was just very hard to remove grime. I used my fingernail to gently go over the spot which broke it up enough to allow the cleaning cloth to do its job.

I suspect it is likely just grime that is difficult to remove.
