Apple thinks I'm French: content, news, movies default to French

Apple thinks I'm French, and it's driving me nuts. Is there a "I speak random other languages" setting in iTMS ?

When I go to rent a nature show for my kids (they love them, really!) I see a preview in English, I see episodes in English, all looks good, make the purchase, BAM! French dubbed.

When I buy a movie, I watch the trailer, see it's English, there's no choice of language but it's all English. Description in English. Prompt to complete the purchase is in English. I make the purchase, and BAM! French version. I have to call Apple support to have them fix it, and they just give refunds.

If I wander past an OG HomePod, and say "Siri, tell me about the news!" it starts playing French news sources. I have not uttered a single French word, and Siri responds in English before playing French content.

I'm standing in Western Canada, so maybe two languages is confusing, but I'd then expect at least 35% English (It's Canada, there's a lot of French popping up in the part of Canada furthest from Quebec, and where Mandarin and Ukrainian outnumber French-speakers).

I don't have French keyboards anywhere in my input means, if that affects anything.

Does anyone know of a setting where something somewhere indicated that I speak French?

Are you saying there is no English Audio track for movies?

You can check in the movie details under Languages if they have more than 1 audio track. If they do, you can switch between them by tapping on the text bubble icon above the time bar when playing a movie.

Some things may only be in French, but many should have English audio as an option.

It may be defaulting to French based on IP Geolocation.

What do you have set under Settings ➜ General ➜ Language & Region as a preferred language?
