iPhone 17 won’t delete multiple letters while holding backspace

I have a problem with my keyboard. If I want to backspace multiple letters, normally you can hold the backspace key, and then all letters will disappear until you release this key. Now only the last letter disappears, until I press the button again. If I keep holding the backspace key, only the last letter disappears.
