E-sim and Backup/SPare Phone - 17 and 13 Mini

Install the operators app on the spare phone and if you need to install eSIM in that the apps usually have a simple way to move the eSIM. (I Mean the 13 not the 6S!)

eg for my provider GiffGaff

• First, check if your new phone works with eSIM. This should be in your settings menu.
• Next, download and log into the giffgaff app from your new phone
• Head over to Account > SIM > Replace my SIM > Switch to new eSIM
• Then, just follow the simple steps to switch your eSIM to your new phone

While traveling my wife and I always take and old phone (we were taking a 6S) as a spare. Something would happen to one of our phone, all we had to do is put the Sim Card in the Spare and Voila, we were up and running again. How can we do that with the 17 and 13 Mini as a Backup. When I activated the 17 it created the E-sim from my Sim card in the 13 Mini, rendering it useless.

How can we use the 13 Mini as a backup these days. I am certain other's have the same question

Activate the 13 with a different number from your phone carrier, so you can use it as a backup. Since newer phone are no longer using physical sims.
