Scrolling on iOS 26 is very juddery and not smooth anymore

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max with over 100gb of free storage space and iOS26 has been installed on my iPhone for very nearly almost 2 weeks. It has not had the refresh rate restricted or any performance-reducing measures turned on.

Scrolling used to be very smooth. The 120hz display was brilliant and scrolling on the web or in apps or even the app list was always slick, but since iOS 26 it looks so juddery that I begin to wonder if my refresh rate is now 20hz instead of 120hz.

This can’t be an iOS ‘bedding in’ issue almost two weeks after install. I know that the usual bugs of freezing apps, higher battery usage and generally slower performance are there, as others are reporting, and ai hope that Apple do deal with that, but the judderiness of the scrolling is just, well, it’s just ugly and looks like something from twenty years ago.

Has anyone else observed this or has advice?

Same here.

IOS26.1 has somewhat improved app scrolling but scrolling through the homescreen looks dreadful.

The stuttering from the leftmost section (widget page) to the main homescreen is severe.

Only solution is to remove ALL widgets from that section. Awesome 👍😂😂.

Have tried removing one by one and retest, but until that page is empty > stutter.

What apps specifically are exhibiting the stuttering symptoms? Have you updated the apps to most recent versions? Have you tried deleting the apps and reinstalling them?
