iOS 18.7 touchscreen dead key in lower left corner on iPhone SE

Updated to ios18.7 on my iphone SE. Now the lower left corner of the touch screen is "dead" most of the time. The numbers/symbols and shft key only works if I tilt the phone so that the keys slide to the long edge of the screen, but sometimes the screen won't tilt. The keys seem to work right after I turn phone off and on, but then go dead again after one operation. I have deleted and added keyboards in settings and that has not worked.
