Home screen icons disappearing after Tahoe 26.0.1 update

Do you mean the Dock? System Settings > Desktop & Dock, turn off the setting to automatically hide the dock.

This is known glitch that we are waiting for Apple to deal with on a future update.

Looks like enabling Stage Manager causes the files to disappear while in any app. If you disable that setting, the desktop files reappear. Hopefully they address this issue in the next update.

Having the same issue. Relaunching the Finder from the Force Quit menu has been resolving it for me. Bring on 26.0.2, though...

Specific items, or all of them? If the latter, make sure System Settings > Desktop & Dock is set to Show Items On Desktop.

If that box is not ticked, then none of your disks/folders/files will show.

Are you saying the Desktop?

What does that mean "not disappearing each time." Each time what?

Have you shut down and restarted more than once:

What macOS was it before 26.0.1 (?) are you saying in macOS 26 you did not have the issue or it was previous to this?

Turn off all the Desktop bells and whistles and get back some control of the Desktop..

If iCLoud Drive> Desk top & Documents got turned, then look there. If you need help with that as an issue please clarify.

I found the solution for that to unhide the files using (⌘ Cmd  + ⇧ Shift + . Dot )

That command toggles invisible files, in other words it makes visible the files that macOS intentionally hides. Many of those files are things that macOS needs and that you should not mess with (which is why they're invisible). It's not a bug. Some (like .DS_Store files) present no risk with deletion, others do. Unless you know the function of those invisible files, manipulate them at your own risk.

iam also having this BUG Tahoe 26.0.1 my files on my desktop disappear ofter some time

its not the dock.... but the personal files in desktop

did not help. Icons at bottom of dock (bottom for my settings) still randomly disappear

did not happen before update. I've checked all my settings and it shouldn't be happening but it randomly does

I've never had Stage Manager enabled.
