I have an older iphone which will not be supported by ios26. How long after the final ios18 update, will my phone be safe to use from a security point of view? How long before I need to upgrade?

This is a user to user only forum. As such, we can't tell you how long Apple will continue to provide security updates for your phone. But if history teaches us anything, phones which go back to iOS 15 are still getting security updates. iOS 15 ended 4 years ago. So using this as a guideline, would likely mean an iPhone XS which is now frozen on iOS 18 will get security updates for at least the next 3 (possibly 4) years.
