Apple Watch Ultra 3 can't detect outdoor walk

Just picked up my new Ultra 3 yesterday. Took it for a walk today. 1.7 miles outdoor and not once did the watch suggest that I was walking.

Had my phone with me. GPS on watch is on. This is a big step backward from my old Series 5.

Did you start the Walking Outdoors manually or did you wait for the watch to detect the workout and start it automatically? Did you check the settings for Reminders in the WatchApp on the iPhone -> Workout -> Reminders -> Start Workout -> enabled?

Also check, if in Settings/Privacy & Security -> Motion & Fitness -> Fitness Training is switched on.

As well as Location Services -> Apple Watch Workout -> While Using the App + Precise Location -> ON
