Why is it that my watch takes 10-15 minutes to recognize that I'm on a walk, yet it somehow knows I’m DONE the second I reach my doorstep? I swear it sometimes knows I'm done with my walk before I do.
Also, can’t a gal tie her shoe on a walk without being IMMEDIATELY asked if I’m done walking??

Your workout will start when your heart rate increases 20 BPM over your base line BPM. Apple calls this a brisk walk. If your heart rate doesn’t go up, the workout doesn’t start. Workout stops when it detects steps stopping and BPM dropping. As suggested by Ingo2711, if you want better accuracy, manually start and stop your workouts.

It seems, that any time you stop your workout for a certain time, without having started the workout manually, the workout detection starts again to monitor, if you are still working out.
