Battery Drain on iOS 26 and iOS 26.0.1.

I’m ditching social media Apps on my new iPhone 17 that I got last week. I am accessing everything through a secured browser so far so good with that issue on Meta

I replied but it never showed up. Here’s a typical days usage. The FaceTime call was 1 hour and 2 minutes. And 4 minutes to take 2 photos used 4%!

I have the same issue. I bought an iPhone 16 pro a week ago and my battery is worse than the iPhone 12 I had before this with 80% capacity. I hope apple fix this as soon as possible because it is annoying.

3. At 79% you need to have a new battery fitted, which is probably the cause of the power drain.

I have an iPhone 15 pro max and I agree when I updated to iOS 26 there were a few issues but no issues with my battery draining. However since I’ve updated to the iOS 26.0.1 I’ve seen significant battery drainage without even picking up my phone. I’m also experiencing some issues charging on my wireless charger in my 2025 Chevy Traverse as well.

There seems to be nothing but excuses being made here.

why didn’t you do this? It takes time after an update? You should turn off this that this that and 3rd

for a 1200-1500$ phone we shouldn’t have to turn anything off and none of this is normal. I updated my phone 2 1/2 weeks ago and the battery drain is still horrendous. I have pretty much everything off I charge at home all night every night and I’m experiencing the same issue. I have the 15 pro max and it’s about 14 months old

So can we stop with all the excuses that make absolutely no sense to try to make us believe this is all normal

Heyy I have a 15 pro, with battery health 89%, just under 2years. Ever since the update to ios 26, it heats up like crazy on idle mode and if I leave it on 80% at night , the next day I wake up to a battery dead phone . How can I improve this?

I recently got an ipad air few weeks ago. With ios 18 as default so when I updated to ios 26 and now 26.1 my battery performance drastically decreasd. I use 80 percent limit, turned off background activity, tried force restart and factory reset but nothing brings back the old ios 18 battery performance, even if I charge it to full I only get 4 hours of battery. Should I try doing a clean install? Please help me.

I too have experienced this issue & agree it’s a big problem. I’ve also had continued sound issues with my apps, requiring constant re-setting of my phone. I thought the update would fix both issues but I was wrong.

You may not be aware that Apple always rounds down the tenths of a percent in the battery readings.

So, when you say that your battery was at 99%......it may have actually been at 99.1%.

And, when you say that your battery was at 98%.....it may have actually been at 98.9%.

So, when it looked like the battery declined from 99% to 98% in 4 days, a decline of 1%.....what may have actually happened was the battery declined from 99.1% to 98.9%.......a drop of only .2%.

You don't need to worry about the battery. Just remember to replace the battery when it is down to 80%

How is it Apple’s fault third party apps aren’t optimized? Do you want apps banned from the App Store until they’re updated? Maybe you think iPhones should be made with larger batteries and weigh twice as much and be twice as thick (not to mention even more expensive)? In my opinion it’s unrealistic expectations people have because they spent a lot of money on a new device and expect perfection. It just doesn’t happen in a modern world.

EXACTY. I see nothing but 2 Apple engineers on their alt accounts blaming everyone else. The bottom line is this: my phone with a brand new, apple installed battery, is having issues 2 weeks after completing iOS 26 update. No issues before, and I’ve given plenty of indexing time, so don’t give me that nonsense.

how about these people grow a brain with some nuance and realize that maybe the apple gods didn’t optimize this OS for their older phones, just a thought, but they’ll probably reply with more excuses.

Mine it's iPhone pro 16 I was just at apple my battery is working on full capacity and right after the update my battery goes down in few hours. Before that I it won't be wasted below 60% even in good use . And that's why I came to check what the new update did that the battery is draining just like after every big update and something is switched on to do so hidden till ppl figure it out .
