iPhone 8 was released in 2017, 8 years ago. If the battery in your phone has never been changed in all these years, it was long overdue for replacement. The question you'd have to ask is if it is worth investing any money in an 8 year old iPhone, which is forever frozen on iOS 16.x.x. and can never be updated higher.
