Precision Finding not working on Apple Watch Series 10 with iPhone 15 Pro

I have a 15 Pro running iOS 26.0.1 and an Apple Watch running watchOS 26.0.2. When using the watch to ping my iPhone, the sound will chime however precision location will not work on my watch. Any suggestions?

Precise Location is enabled for both watch and phone within the various Privacy & Security panes.

No, but it was a possibility and now we know it’s not. Do you have any services disabled, WiFi, Bluetooth, do you use a VPN? Is your iPhone region set to US?

How to use Precision Finding on Apple Watch Series 10:

Open Control Center: Press the side button on your Apple Watch.
Tap the Ping iPhone icon: Look for the icon that resembles a phone with sound waves coming from it.
Get directions: Your watch screen will show a general heading and distance to your iPhone, such as "50 feet".
Follow the arrow: The directional arrow on your screen will move as you do, guiding you to your iPhone.
Confirm with sound and flash: When you get close, the watch screen will turn green, and your iPhone will ping twice and flash.
Final check: A checkmark will appear on the watch screen when you are right next to the phone.
Tap to close: Tap the "X" in the corner to close the directions screen.

No. I’m telling you from your original post, we have no idea where you might be located; therefore the country/region constraint is a possibility.

Thanks. Obviously it was a possibility, but the manner in which it was presented was dismissive and unhelpful.

I’ve followed all of the steps listed above and in the originally linked User Guide. WiFi is enabled as is Bluetooth. No VPN and all services are enabled.

It’s not a function I use regularly, and I believe it has worked in the past with my AirTags and AirPods Pro 2, but I haven’t utilized the functionality in 26.

Clearly I was making a point. Obviously it was a possibility…but the manner in which you responded was dismissive and provided zero value.

Might it make more sense to actually inquire about my location instead of simply stating ”Precision Finding isn’t available in all countries and regions”?
