Under “Display and Brightness” in Settings, I cranked text size it up to maximum. It worked, but now when I go that screen, the slider is missing—this is all I see:
It's not really a problem, but I don't know what to do besides resetting all settings which I'd rather not do (restarting does nothing). This is iPadOS 26 on 9th gen iPad.

I found a solution—went to System Settings/Accessiibility/Display & Text Size, which has the same text size slider, but this one was visible and I could manipulate it. That restored the “missing” one. Even so, i did report this as a bug to Apple.

I did try that with no effect. But I did find a solution—see my reply to myself.
Cannot reset text size following change.
