Selfie Streched on WhatsApp only iPhone 17Pro

I've found a solution for this issue.

The stretch gets caused because of the "center stage" feature (the one where the camera follows you around to center your face). Mainly it's used for video calling. The feature is also active in WhatsApp.

To turn it off, do the following:

• enter a video call on WhatsApp (not FaceTime) with whomever
• pull down the Control Center from the top right screen
• Turn off the center stage feature on the camera

Now the stretch will not happen anymore. You won't have this issue if you've never turned on Center Stage for WhatsApp.

Yes , had this since the first day on my iphone 17 pro max - stretched out selfie cam - except when you apply a filter of some sort.

If that is the only problem you have experienced with WhatsApp, you should consider yourself very lucky. Meta has updated WhatsApp 13 times in just the last month for bug fixes, and it will be a future update that will resolve that problem as well. The support you experienced with Meta is well known and not something Apple can resolve. Why people continue to use the Meta software when they are simply bug testers and don't have any valuable support resolution is unknown by me. It is also true that they do not offer a support site such as this for their users to communicate any problems they are experiencing.

I think it has to do with Center Stage on Whatsapp. As of right now I don't know how to turn it off for WhatsApp...
