iOS 26 lag and overheating issues on iPhone

I have been facing the same on my iPhone 15 Pro. I have tried out to solve this issue by restarting my iPhone and it did make the system lag settle down for a bit but it was a temporary solution. After updating to iOS 26.0.1 my iPhone has been working comparatively better which includes better battery optimisation and lesser UI lag. If the issue persists even after updating to the latest iOS version, you can opt for reducing the liquid glass effect.

I had experienced the same, sometimes whenever it laggedg I go to settings and see if I had an update once I do it stops lagging try that it might help other than that if it keeps on the same issue retrieve the old version of the iPhone and cancel the dev or beta version

I’ve got a new iPhone 17 Pro Max and it’s way slower than my old iPhone 15 PM (running iOS 17). Springboard icon refresh is very slow. You can see each and every icon being drawn as you swipe through the springboard pages. Takes 3-4 seconds to redrawn each screen. It’s been 2 weeks and this behavior is still prevalent, so the “indexing” excuse isn’t valid. The geekbench show fast CPU speeds, so I can only assume iOS 26 is the culprit. Hopefully 26.1 fixes this issue. I feel sick, spending $1400 on a new iPhone that feels slower than my previous iPhone.

WhatsApp is full of bugs. There developers are releasing updates multiple times a week. Have you deleted your old version and installed the latest version? There have been 5 updates in the last 7 days. The latest was just yesterday. Does that sound like an app full of bugs? It certainly does.

Which apps specifically are to experiencing the issues with? Are they also consuming a lot of your daily battery capacity? Have you tried deleting those apps and reinstalling them?

Fix what? If you want Apple’s assistance you need to talk to Apple. If you deascribe the issues and post some battery usage screenshots, we may be able to assist.

My iPhone 16 Pro (iOS 26.0.1) is experiencing a serious performance issue: lag and typing/commands stutter (lugging). This problem occurs in various apps, especially in apps that require scrolling (e.g., Instagram, Threads), where the screen seems to stutter by about 0.3 seconds. This issue did not occur in previous iOS versions, and my friend’s iPhone 16 Pro also did not have this problem in earlier versions.

This situation is seriously bothering me. Please investigate the problem and provide possible solutions.

Same thing happening here with 16 pro max, i do not understand this piece of tech only 1 year old and since last upgrades of ios 18 and now updated to ios 26 heating problem is not going away. And Battery performance is worst. When apple is going to fix these

I have been facing exactly the same issue too! After updating my iPhone 15 Pro, it is draining a lot of battery, getting pretty overheated and the worst part is the iOS is lagging a lot! I expected smoother animation with this update but it is quite the opposite, I hope they atleast fix this lagging in the next update.

Messaging app is getting frozen randomly whenever any OTP comes and I am on call with somebody and I want to see OTP to fill up in any website. It gets frozen many times. I am not in call still messaging app is getting frozen and my device is heating up very randomly.

Many bugs i am facing everyday use e.g. if u are on dark mode and open pdf in whatsapp top controls goes blind, second if u have mute the media volume zero and u are going to listen whatsapp message the mute icon displays all over screen i do not understand is it feature or bug? See attach pic

one more issue with 16 pro max in direc sunlight even the ambient temperature nowadays in UAE around 30 celcius but it only take seconds to low the brightness gets heatup and what is the point of this high brightness. Where should i use it at home?
