iPhone 17 Records Video With No Audio

Hi! I know what to do! I’ve got same trouble. And saw your post about it.

I decide to reset camera app. -> open camera -> volume up volume down -> then power button few seconds. For full iPhone restart! And now it works! (But first i try to turn off and turn on audio settings in camera section - mono

stereo spatial. And leave on spatial again)

BUT! Previous videos still haven’t sound::(((

Back up.

Settings, General, Transfer or reset iphone, Reset,Reset all settings.

If the camera continues to not record sound, start a warranty complaint or return it within 14 days. Official Apple Support

Update: if you reset the settings (only settings not your whole phone) it fixes the issue. Apply pay cards will be removed tho and if you’re on dark mode all that’s personalized settings will be set to default. But that fixes the issue

From my experience, Reset all Settings takes longer to recover from than backup and restore.

Do the restore first then if it does not help, do the reset all settings.

Back up.

If it never recorded then there is nothing to recover. I guess you tried loading into imovie or better app to look at any sound track. If there isn’t one then it was never there.

I’ve had the phone three days.

the default camera app is the only one having issues. I can record on every app but the default camera.

so I know it’s not my mic or case on my phone.

I’ve checked permissions and the camera isn’t there but also doesn’t give me an option to add it.

For me this happened when I filmed some video using the new camera action button on iPhone 17 Pro. None of these suggestions I’ve read have helped. I chatted with Apple Technical support and they suggested updating IOS, which did nothing. It seems like the originals were recorded without sound. I’m not using the camera action button to film videos anymore out of caution.

Did you find a solution to this issue? I just got a 17 Pro, took videos at a show, and found none of them have sound. Recorded videos using different apps and they all had the same issue.

I did the same thing!! I videoed a dance concert that my wife did and there is no sound. She is so disappointed!! Help!!!
