How to set up 'My Card' in Contacts when sharing contacts?

My wife and I both have an Apple-ID and an iPhone running iOS 26.0.1. We have shared contacts by adding my Apple account to the Contacts app on her iPhone. The problem is, if I set my contact information as "My Card" in Contacts, it also becomes "My Card" on my wife's iPhone. The same thing happens the other way around. How can we each set up our own "My Card"?

How do I stop my contact card from being shared? Why is the contact card now assigned by apple id and the phone number. for years me and my husband have had one Apple ID and not experienced any issues. Now my contact id is being shared across multiple devices. even if I switch off the contact card it is still being shared [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Contact Card If I share my contact card then edit it after can whoever I shared it with see the edits?
