How can I turn two factor authentication on in Ipad sign in and secur settings?

I’m trying to extend my MacBook Pro screen across to my iPad.

Settings > [your Apple Account] > Sign-In & Security.


But actually, something doesn't make sense about your question. Two-factor authentication is associated with your Apple Account, and not any specific device. If your Apple Account already has two-factor authentication associated with it, that should be sufficient. So it sounds like you have some additional issue.

The Apple Account used must be the same account on both to use an iPad as a second display for a Mac:

I’ve checked everything and I’m still not able to connect / side car my iPad to my MacBook despite the Apple ID etc being the same. The message I get is my iCloud account doesn’t allow for 2FA but when I check on account.apple.com it looks like 2FA is enabled. I’m just trying to update the operating system on both devices in case that’s the issue but failing that I’m not sure what to do next apart from pop into the Mac store….
