Missing trade-in kit for online iPhone purchase

I recently bought a new phone online for pick up. I decided I wanted to trade in my phone, but I never got any tracking label or confirmation of a trade in. All I see on my order status is “pending trade-in kit shipment.” Is this normal? When should I expect to receive it? And will I still get the credit even if I shipped within 14 days, but they received it after?

Typically for an online order that you receive at home, the trade-in kit arrives within a week of receiving the new iPhone. This allows you to have both iPhones at the same time so that you can do a direct data transfer using Quick Start.

I suppose (but I can't confirm) that Apple uses the same strategy for pick orders, i.e. the trade-in kit will be sent within a week of your picking up your new iPhone. I believe this is what the message "pending trade-in kit shipment" means.

Here is an extract of this Apple document that makes me think so:

How long does the online trade-in process take?

Generally it takes 2 to 3 weeks. Your trade-in device needs to be sent to us within 14 days of when you receive your new device. The sooner we receive your trade-in, the sooner we can verify its condition and process your credit or gift card. It may take 3 to 5 business days for your credit to be processed.

If you do not receive the trade-in kit within a week, please contact Apple Support directly to notify them.
