Stolen phone / receiving messages from Apple that they found it

Hello,

3 weeks ago i was in Paris with my friends and the iPhone of one of them was stolen. we went to the police station and they took everything they need as info and i guess the case ended there.

Now, 3 weeks later, my friend is receiving messages such as "Your lost iPhone is connected to the internet. A location has been found. (+1 (902) 8xx-xxxx) "; "Dear customer, Our system has detected that new SIM card has been inserted into your lost iPhone", again from the same number. The link they put is findmy-phone.i********

The last message she received is from a person called Alice from Apple support asking my friend if she is the owner of the phone.

Could you please tell us if this is a scam or not ?

DO NOT ENGAGE. This is a scam to get the owner to give the thieves their Apple ID credentials so that they may hijack the account, and remove the phone from the account so they can then activate it and sell it.

Apple will never contact you telling you your phone is found.
