iPad landscape mode keyboard is too large. How do I fix it?

When my iPad Pro is in landscape mode, the keyboard takes up literally 75% of the screen. I have searched through the community and all kinds of articles and the only choices that I’m being presented with are floating keyboard, which is like a 3 x 3 or this massive keyboard that is very disruptive to the workflow. I am on the latest iOS 26. This is absolutely ridiculous that this keyboard is so massive. There has to be a way to adjust this, but I am at a loss to find an article to assist with it.

To be clear when in portrait mode, it takes up a third of the screen, which in my opinion is too much as it is, but in landscape mode, it is absolutely blocking productivity because it takes up literally 75% of the screen no exaggeration

i’m desperate to find a solution and switching to a third-party app is not an option. This is something that Apple needs to address because again it is counter to productivity.
