Selecting old keyboard layout for all apps in iOS 26

Is the a way to choose the old keyboard layout for ALL apps in iOS 26? The new keyboard is terrible and I just would prefer to use the old since it seems to be available in most apps that are not made by apple? I've changed to using alternative apps for now but I would like to get the use of imessage back since its the main reason I've been using the phone, which is where I also do most of my typing.

hi there! unfortunately, there is no way to change the style of the default keyboard. the new keyboard is a change that automatically applies when a developer recompiles their app using xcode 26.

what you could do though is use a third party keyboard like gboard or swiftkey, though this will come with a completely different design you might like less (or more, who knows).

if you don't want to use a third party keyboard, i fear you're going to have to get used to the new one.
