Can Apple inspect or replace iPad damaged in house fire?

Hi Apple supportDoes Apple replace or service a iPad

I’m reaching out because my iPad and were exposed to a house fire. They were not directly burned, but they were in or near the affected area and may have smoke or heat damage. I haven’t turned them on or charged them since the incident because I understand that could be unsafe.

Can you please advise the next steps for inspection or possible replacement? I also have the fire report available if you need it for verification.

For fire damage, you will need to seek assistance from your home insurer. Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare+ plan for your iPad, Apple will not replace devices that have been damaged by accident or fire.

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange an accidentally damaged iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for non-warranty repair. Without benefit of an active AppleCare+ plan, an out-of-warranty repair will be expensive, but less than the cost of a new iPad.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:
