Burn mark on back of iPhone

Hi guys,

I’ve noticed a small burn mark on the back of my iPhone 15 Pro. It’s discoloured under the glass (but the glass is fine) so I’m guessing it’s from something inside the phone. It’s also marked the official iPhone case. It’s only the size of a match head.

My phone is under warranty, but I took it to the Genius Bar today and this is what they said:

They need their safety team to investigate it, and they needed to keep my phone for up to 2 weeks.

I told them I can’t be without my phone for any amount of time (2FA, my work, etc etc) and the guys response was “you should really have 2 phones if it’s your lifeline)”.

I’m sorry, but I can’t believe Apple’s service has become so bad. I’ve never had any issues with them before. Is this a new policy at Apple?

I’ve had to take my phone back home against their recommendation.

Has anyone else had this burn mark issue?
