Iphone repair in country with no apple store

Hey guys, i purchased an iphone 16 with apple care plus in early january 2025 from a verified reseller online in the UAE. I am not currently living there anymore and am living in Egypt, a country with only "apple authorised service providers". My phone has started to bug recently after dropping it and now it is constantly stuck at 1% battery with a notification that says unverified battery and that apple is unable to verify that this iphone has a genuine apple battery, with maximum capacity at 0%. While an option is to take it to one of the local service providers, they dont have the best reputation.

My first question is : can i ship my phone abroad with a friend who is going to the UAE, he can then go and repair or exchange it for me at an actual apple store, or is it required that i be there? My second question is that since there is no actual apple store, if i do end up going to one of the local service providers, will my international warranty be revoked since its not an actual apple store who is doing the maintenance?

Thanks all,

iPhone 16, iOS 18

A: There is no "international warranty" on the iPhone. You may be able to get warranty service outside of the country of original sale. It is not guaranteed.

B: All authorized service in Egypt is provided by the supported cellular carriers there.

C: Having any service provided by an unauthorized shop will permanently void the warranty and any AppleCare agreement.

You should be able to have someone else take it in for service at an Apple Store or authorized service provider in the country where it was originally sold. Just make sure you take steps necessary to remove your Apple account from the device, turn off find my, and remove the passcode prior to having it taken in for service.

Given that the damage was caused by a drop, it is almost certain the entire phone will have to be replaced rather than repaired. Make sure you have a backup.
