Charging Issue with Brand New iPhone 16 Pro Max
Hi,
I’m having an issue with my brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max. When I charge the phone using a cable, the charging becomes extremely slow — it takes around 5 minutes to increase just 1%. After that, the battery percentage seems to be capped at around 58–60% and doesn’t go any higher. For your information, I’m using the original Apple cable and a 20W original Apple adapter. However, when I use wireless charging, there’s no problem — it charges normally up to 100%.
This issue started two days ago. Before that, I had already suspected something was wrong because the phone wouldn’t charge beyond 80%, even though Battery Optimization was turned off. The phone was not overheating at all, and I always charged it using the original Apple charger in an air-conditioned room, so temperature or settings should not have been the cause.
However, two days ago, the charging limit dropped even further — now it only charges up to around 60%.
I’ve already tried several troubleshooting steps, including force restart, resetting settings, factory reset, and even a clean factory restore using a laptop, but the issue still persists. I’ve also cleaned the charging port carefully to ensure there was no dust or obstruction, but that didn’t solve the problem either.
Because of this, I believe the issue might not be software-related — it could possibly be caused by a hardware fault, such as a problem with the charging port. Does the warranty cover this type of issue? My warranty is still valid until May 2026, under the standard one-year warranty that came with the phone when I purchased it. I haven’t subscribed to any extended or additional warranty plans.
I would really appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue as soon as possible.
Thank you.
