How can I improve my iPhone 17 Pro Max's battery life?

Help! My iPhone 17 Pro Max has simply horrific battery life. When I got my 14 Plus over two years ago it was my first large-size model and I was shocked at how amazing the battery was. For the first time in my iPhone history (and I had the first model in 07), I could reliably have a charge last 1.5 days with normal use. Even when I traded it in recently, I was rarely below 40% by 7pm unless I was using it excessively.

That all changed with my iPhone 17 Pro Max. Within two hours of waking up and charging overnight it is always at 85% or less. I need to charge it every evening or it dies. Nothing is jumping out to me in the battery section, even at the end of the day it shows a bunch of things it attributes to 2-3% battery. I am really only listening to some podcasts, having a few phone calls, and checking social media sporadically, maybe a crossword or too. I feel like I haven't had an iPhone battery this bad maybe ever?

Yes, it has to connect to cellular network the whole time and cellular is one of most battery draining features on a cellphone. In marginal cellular coverage areas the cellular has to consume a lot more battery capacity than when you’re on WiFi. All apps listed in your settings consumed 15% of your battery used. Podcasts and Instagram combined used 5%. That’s a third of your 15% used. The apps not shown used the other 10%.
