My iphone says storage is full when it isnt?

I got an iphone 17 a few days ago. When I woke up this morning, it started glitching and kicking me out of apps, and I got a popup saying my storage is full. I have a ton of available storage, as my previous phone was 256 and this current phone is a 512. When I went into my storage, it showed I was using 511.77 of 512 gb!!!! There is no way. I restarted my phone and now my storage is back to showing 190gb which is accurate. The issue is technically resolved but why on earth would it say that!
