iPhone 13 battery swelling and screen detachment

My iphone 13 battery was swollen, and the screen came off. The Apple service told me that it should be covered since this is a known problem with iphone 13. Since Apple found an additional problem in my phone (cellular issue) they are unwilling to cover the screen and battery and want to charge 600$ for the repair.

How does this make sense? Why hasn't apple recalled the iphone 13 initially, if I was given a product with a defect?

I am so annoyed, I know that the phone would have been replaced for a new one, and this is Apple's chance to get paid for it. Apple has said that I can either get my phone back unrepaired or pay 600$ repair.

What should I do?

Sorry, but this is a user to user only forum, NOT Apple Support. Batteries in phones can fail at any time. You likely didn't check your battery health and the phones battery dipped below 80% health. Batteries which are degraded can eventually fail and even swell. There is NO Service Campaign for iPhone 13 models, so Apple will charge you to fix the phone, IF it can be fixed.

There's nothing anyone here on this user to user only forum can do to help you. Either pay to fix the phone or recycle the phone and buy a new one. That's what you should do.

You are wrong, this is a known problem with iPhone 13. I was told that by Apple themselves several times.

I'm not wrong. But arguing your point with me or anyone else here, on this user to user only forum, gets you nowhere. We aren't Apple. We are users just like you. You can argue with Apple if you want, but Apple is the final arbiter and if Apple won't cover your phone under warranty, which they likely will NOT do, there's not one thing anyone on this forum can do for you.

Here is a link to EVERY Service Program Apple has --> Apple Service Programs - Apple Support

Do you see iPhone 13 there? I didn't think so.

Apple is not going to perform a single repair when there has been another identified problem diagnosed whether you or Apple pays for the single repair. For example, if your screen is cracked and your camera does not function, neither of those would be repaired independently without the other issue addressed.

You have been given your options, either get the phone back not repaired or pay to have the other issue addressed as well. The choice is yours to make. Personally for me, I would be looking to purchase a new phone.
