QuickTime player stops recording after software update

I have used every single option to try and get the Q Player to not ‘stop recording’ and it is really annoying. I have changed the saving Location to Desktop, to External Drive. All this happened when I updated my Software. I don’t save anything to the Cloud I save on hard disk and also to an external drive. Could this have something to do with it?

I would try and move as much data to external storage devices as you can manage with your usage to free up space on your local drive. that may play a part in this.

but as far as using an external drive as your "save to" location, I would say that is a possible culprit. I have, in the past, encountered issues with longer recordings stopping / not saving unexpectedly whenever I have selected anything other than "desktop" as my "save to" location. this has been especially true when "save to" is set to an external drive. so I now use "desktop" as my "save to" every time and afterwards I move them to my desired location manually. I haven't had an issue since.
