Since the ios 26 upgrade, my iPhone 12 has trouble connecting to my car (BYD atto 3).
It works twice out of 10 tries, which is horrible.
My wife's iPhone16 pro max, not upgraded to ios 26, works well with the same car.
I'm posting this to make sure that this issue is addressed on iPhone 12 as well, as I know it is a known issue on higher models.

Does your iPhone 12 still have its original battery?
And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

The battery is the original one.
It has a 90% maximum capacity.
The iPhone itself was bought only at June 2024 so its milage isn't that big.
Such basic functionality is expected to be kept longer. Carplay was actually the only reason I switched to iPhone in the first place and it worked beautifully up until ios 26.
This issue not resolving will force me back to Android.
Update: toggling off the widgets didn't help.

Was the iPhone 12 bought new or refurbished (incl. new battery) from Apple? ...If not, this may be of interest:

No Parts and service history section.
The device was bought new.
Checking around the forum, I see newer models including the newest, suffer from similar issues so I guess it is a software issue.
Other than this issue and random lags here and there, the device works fine.
The issue with Carplay not working, is that you're all of a sudden kind of crippled while driving, after getting used to the best experience.
This is very sloppy from Apple to issue such a buggy update leaving drivers helpless. Being an Apple noobie I honestly didn't think such sloppy job happens on iOS.
