iPhone 17 Maps cuts off first words paired with car audio

When I pair my phone to my car and get Maps voice directions via Siri, the first second or two (first few words) of each announcement are cut-off, like it takes too long to establish each connection.

is there a way to introduce a pause before Siri’s spoken driving announcements?

Siri won't speak directions in Maps through CarPlay My husband is using an iPhone 14 Pro Max iOS 18.3.2. A little while ago, Siri stopped giving spoken directions in Maps while using CarPlay. However, my iPhone with the same iOS works fine. He's tried all of the steps from other posts in the Community and it still says no map directions other than "Getting directions to..." However, getting text messages is fine. It will pop up with "speed check ahead" or "road closed ahead..." messages, just no turn-by-turn spoken directions, it's only on the screen. The only thing he hasn't tried is doing a factory reset. Any suggestions?

Siri audio and message issues in 2026 Honda Passport Siri suddenly doesn't talk out loud nor play my music with my 2026 Honda Passport. Siri won't read my messages in the car either. Though I can dictate a message it won't repeat back what I am dictating. It will send it without telling me. I've rebooted my iPhone several times.
