apple watch ultra 1 extreme slow after WatchOS 26

After the WatchOS 26 update the Apple Watch experience has gone down significantly because of the lag in UI. Even to a point where I’m not a fan of using my Apple Watch anymore.

Everything (such as starting apps, menu, control center, scrolling through apps, wake to rise, and much more) either very slow or laggy or both. I see on Reddit that many many users with different Apple Watch models experience the same issues. Maybe the Liquid Glass (which is barely visible, and a downgrade in design in my honest opinion) demands more CPU. But from all tech companies, Apple should know that design and functionality should lift each other up. Not compromise basic functionality and user experience for a “new” design.

Did you already try to force restart yourApple Watch after the upgrade?

To force restart your watch, press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.

Also, there are a few background processes still going on after an upgrade for some time, which may use some of the processing power.

I did not experience any lagging on my Ultra 2 after the latest update to watchOS 16.0.2
