Ineligible refund for deleted app (Cue - Smart AI Meeting Notes) on iPhone

on Oct 6  2025 I downloaded a free trial of Cue - Smart AI Meeting Notes , that same day I deleted that app because I was not interested but on Oct 8 2025 $99.99 was use to pay for the app I then realize that I deleted the app but never unsubscribe and requested a refund on Oct 14 2025 I check the status and it said that the or was Not eligible for a refund but that I can appeal  which I did , on Oct 15 2025 I received that the  status was still Not eligible for a refund  and after speaking to the customer service and management no one was able to give me the reason why I was unable to get my refund that was also part of my mortgage money. I would like to have a refund and at least a reason to why a app that I use for 10 min and delete so never use would be eligible for a refund . I would like more information on the issue

In most cases all transactions in the App Store are final. At times, Apple may provide a compassionate refund on a case by case basis, but it should never be expected.

Apple is not monitoring your app usage and deleting an app does not cancel a free trial or subscription. On the Authorization Screen where you are required to double click the side button to accept, you see the message stating to avoid any charges, you must cancel the free trial a day before the subscription start date. That is what you had agreed to. To cancel any free trial/subscription, it is easily done by following the steps here:

View or cancel app subscriptions on iPhone - Apple Support

Whenever I start a free trial, I set a reminder to evaluate the service so I can cancel if need be. It is as easy as saying "Hey Siri, set a reminder on xx/xx/xx to evaluate my free trial"

What we are saying is that you are never given a reason and there has never been a reason given for denial. You can certainly call that poor customer service if you want, but you were charged for the subscription because that is what you had agreed to by double clicking the side button with the message on the screen that tells you exactly how to avoid the charge. That is how free trials have always worked and is why I recommend setting a reminder, so you don't forget to cancel it before being charged for the subscription. Nobody knows if you deleted the app, quit using the app, or even if the app is working for you (that is why there is a trial period with the option to cancel to avoid the charges).

If you want to send feedback to Apple, you can do that here. Under Feedback Type, choose Other, then describe your experience:

I said the apple customer service people was unable to give to the answer that all said I see your request and that it was denied I then asked why and the reply was they didn’t know why it was denied I didn’t say y’all I said yall try to make them look good but if there customer service is bad then it bad 🤷🏾‍♀️

You are never given a reason and none of us work for Apple. As stated already Apple's policy is that all transactions in the App Store are final. Even with that policy, Apple may consider a refund, but you should never expect one. If you are denied, there will be no explanation.

In your case, you agreed to pay the subscription charge if you do not cancel the free trial a day before the start date, and that is exactly what happened. Nobody is looking over your shoulder to make sure you are using the app or asking you if you want to change your mind, that is all up to you.

Nope no warning I was in church and downloaded it and it was not to my liking so I deleted it a few minutes later which is why I didn’t realize that I never unsubscribe until 3 days later when they took the payment that is when I immediately cancel it and requested the refund back for $99 because I not paying that for something I not even using

It's easy to miss the warning when you're in a hurry. However, that doesn't change the fact that when you subscribed, you were told the terms.

It is what it is. Next time, set a calendar event 24 hours before a trial expires to remind yourself to cancel. Do this as soon as you sign up.

No one here in this user-to-user forum works for Apple. We have no access to your account. We can't give you a refund. We don't know why it was denied.

I'm really sorry this happened to you but we can't help you.

Look what I am saying is its customer service yes I uploaded the app and used to see how it worked It would not for me. I deleted the app immediately I did however did not be Realize I’ve never and unsubscribe I was at church when I Download it to use. What I’m saying is when asked for a reason as to why I am being denied for getting my money back. I should be able to have a reason when you’re telling me that you do not even know the reason why I am not getting a refund that is why I didn’t say it bad customer service.

When you delete an app with a subscription, you get a warning that you also need to cancel the subscription.
