This bug or is it a "feature" started recently. I certainly don't need any vibrations when someone I calls answers their phone. Very annoying and needs to stop.
I do not want to disable haptics system wide. Just in this instance.

There is no setting to turn off only the haptics for calls. You could turn off haptics entirely in Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Vibration, but then that would also disable emergency alert haptics which isn't recommended. This has been asked before so I suggest you submit feedback to Apple where you would be joining others.

Have you tried going to Settings>Apps>Phone>Hold Assist and turning it off?
I know the feature you seem to be describing is one that some people have asked for in the past. I was unaware that Apple had added it. I've never noticed it.

That will disable all the haptics, not just the one the original poster wants to get rid of. They said the didn't want to get rid of all of them.

Ios26.1 has this new setting
Settings, Apps, Phone, Haptics on/off

Sorry to hear that. I don't make very many phone calls but I don't recall having experienced this.
If it's the same feature we're talking about, then this feature will only enable/disable haptics when a call is connected and when the call ends. But.. yeah. I don't think I'm allowed to write about this, but it's probably not a feature that original poster have access to yet. Unless..

Are you on a beta version of iOS 26?
Try:
Settings > Apps > Phone > disable Haptics.
I just updated to IOS26 this happened with me to disable this go to Settings > Apps > Phone > Haptics and toggle it off
Thank you. Yes. I just updated and 26.1 has a specific Haptic setting that only addresses the call being answered or dropped. Hopefully, this does it.
How can I turn off haptic feedback when an outgoing call is answered?
