Poor Battery Life on iPhone 16 Pro Max After iOS 26 Update

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased the iPhone 16 Pro Max and updated it to iOS 26 on the very first day. Since then, I’ve been experiencing very poor battery life, which has been quite disappointing.

I’ve already set the charging limit to 80%, and I usually plug it in again when it drops to around 20%. Despite this, the battery drains much faster than expected, even with normal usage.

Has anyone else noticed similar issues after the update? Any suggestions or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Thats what I figured and why I asked the question. There many things that your iPhone needs to do when the iOS is upgraded some of those things are scheduled to run at night, when plugged in and charging. My iPhone had about 80GB of data to download. I have fast internet and my iPhone PM download it over several nights.

It will do some downloading during the day and some processing, indexing and syncing of the data, but it would deplete your party to quickly and make your iPhone run very slow while the background activity was going on.

Plug your iPhone in the next 3 or 4 nights and plug it in. You can do your charging anyway you want after that.

But the first thing you need to do is a forced restart. Instructions are in the article linked below. When holding in the power button, you may need to do so for up to 30 seconds. Once the Apple Logo appears, that’s when you let go.
