You could use the built-in iOS functionality. In the Files app, long-press a file, choose Quick Actions > Create PDF. (You need to scroll down to see Quick Actions.)

idk if this applies but for some word files that i use my ipad to convert, the formatting may be lost. As such, you may still convert your files, but do take note of this risk.
