Fraudulent Apple ID security warning via text message

i have gotten a text twice now from 212 636***** saying your apple ID case id 649*** -security warning pending for a $287.99 apple store purchase in orlando fla and directs me to call apple support at 1-888-574-**** ! When i attemp to find a appleWould apple text this to me ? I can find no apple security phone number in search and assume if it is fraud the phone # would lead into the trap

Same scam that's been going around for months. Had you simply looked up the phone number it came from, or the 888 number they prompt you to call in a web search, you'd have seen neither has anything to do with Apple.


Ignore and delete.

I am sure if you could suggest an effective way then Apple might consider it. The problem is, it's a game of whack-a-mole. I have often thought that charging everybody for every email they sent and every text message they sent might deter many of these since you were probably just one of several million who received that message, but I somehow doubt that that would be popular with the populace.
