How do I remove Activation Lock from my iPhone 14?

Hi, I bought a used iPhone 14 from someone I don’t know. It’s locked with Activation Lock. I don’t have the Apple ID or the receipt, but I have the IMEI and a photo of the lock screen. Can you please tell me what I can do to unlock it or check its status?

The IMEI or Lock Screen won't be of any use, you need the original proof of purchase receipt the Retailer provides. Either the seller did not properly erase the iPhone for sale, or it was a lost/stolen iPhone sold to you. Ask them if they can remove the Activation Lock, but if you don't get a reply, then it was a scam and you should try to return/report it. It cannot be bypassed aside from the original owner.

Apple's Refurbished Store has the iPhone 14 which I advise you purchase from next time.
