My new Iphone won't turn to portrait mode.

Hi:

I just bought a new Iphone 17 & the first couple of days the phone would go automatically into portrait mode when in rest & positioned accordingly. Today it just stopped doing it, it will remain in vertical mode no matter how many time I click on & off on the position lock button or restart the phone.
