Apple Watch Series 10 warranty activation date

i receive an apple watch series 10 a gift. i like to know when will the warranty begin, is it at the date of purchase, or when I activate the watch

I have insert the serial number into Apple support website and the return message shows that my device is not activated yet. So if I activate it, does that means the warranty will start from the day?
